Come join our social SUP & SIP events! This is a relaxed, semi-guided SUP group paddle event. Paddle around the beautiful sheltered waters of the Chukwani Bay, meet other paddlers, chill with friends and practice your paddling techniques with our guides. In this peaceful bay, you trade the sounds of the busy city for birdsong and the splashes of jumping fish; while old beautiful dhow boats sail out to sea at sunset. We'll be out on the water for a few hours and then end the event floating on boards and rings or sitting on the steps, sharing stories, drinks and a bite to eat until the sun sets. This event is for all ages and abilities and perfect for beginners who want to dip their toes into the world of SUP in a relaxed and safe environment. And why not toast your success with an ice cold beer!

What you need to know.

What’s included
The following are included in the SUP & SIP events:
  • All equipment (SUP, life-jacket and paddle)
  • Tour guide (equipped with safety equipment and first aid kit)
  • SUP demos/lessons throughout the event
  • 3 hour duration (approx.)
  • Water, juice, sodas, 3 beers (if you want more then that’s cool, we operate an honesty policy so if you have more than 3 you can just let us know and pay the extra).
  • Refreshments of fresh fruits and homemade snacks

Where
Arrive at the 2 Winds Paddle Sports – Zanzibar office located in Chukwani and you will be met by the team, the SUP & SIP event happens in the bay area directly in front of the office. Contact us for directions/how to get here, we can also arrange taxi transfers at a competitive rate.

When
Due to the daily tidal changes in Zanzibar the event will run at varying times, please check with us. For this event, timing can be a little more flexible but if you are too late then you might be left sitting on the soggy beach rather than floating on the water (more of a sip than a sup).

Duration
The event lasts about 3 hours (often longer as guests enjoy themselves so much!). The event times vary based on tide times and are best during a sunset.

What to bring
We recommend bringing the following:
  • Sunscreen!
  • Hat
  • Sunglasses (with strap)
  • Towel
  • Water/reef shoes
  • Waterproof camera
  • Insect repellent
  • You can wear beach/fitness or even normal clothing but a change of dry clothing is recommended for afterwards.
*Please be sensitive to local culture when considering your attire for the tour

Price
$45 USD per person

*Resident/Student/Volunteer rates are available. Contact us for more details

Other Notes
We have a limited supply of boards so if we have a large number of guests you may need to alternate between supping and sipping a drink.
Contact us if you would like to arrange a private SUP & SIP event for your group (we can do birthday events, tour group bookings and corporate events). We will be more than happy to work out a plan for you.

Important to note – this tour depends on ocean/weather conditions and your safety is our primary concern. Participants must be able to swim. If the conditions are too rough or we feel participants are not suitable for the activity then we will change the event specifications to suit. In extreme cases we may cancel/reschedule the tour. Please note that if the tour is cancelled due to weather conditions then you will get a full refund.
Responsible drinking is advised and we ask you to respect your own and others safety if drinking alcohol during this event.
